Evolve Diablo Renegade: A completely redesigned board
The Renegade Diablo is powered by an all-new deckfrom Evolve. Underfoot are two 6374 brushless motors, each rated at 3,500 W - for a total of 7,000 W - which deliver instant power. The result : is violent acceleration, and a top speed that can climb to 62 km/h with customised wheels. For thrill-seekers, we're clearly in another dimension.
Renegade battery life : a pleasant surprise
The battery is a Samsung 50S, and you can feel it. During my test, I easily reached 40 km of off-road range. Compared with the GTR 2 I was using before, that's a real gain in freedom. And despite the power on board, energy management remains clean thanks to the EFOC 2.0 controller, which optimises both efficiency and driving smoothness.
Superior control and stability
What really stood out for me from the first few minutes was the very snowboard feel, enhanced by the optional straps. The fit is top-notch, the CNC-forged trucks respond like a dream, and the slightly convex deck is perfect for sending tricks and jumps with complete stability. You can feel that the board has been designed to take a beating.
Powerful motor and maximum safety
Be careful, we're not talking about a beginner's skate here. The power can be surprising! Fortunately, the custom modes allow you to adapt the skate's behaviour to your level. The regenerative braking is also very reassuring, especially downhill where you can feel the energy being recovered without losing control.

A premium finish that inspires confidence
What immediately struck me was the level of build quality. Every detail exudes premium quality. A special mention goes to the Phaze : remote control, made entirely of metal, which is ultra-responsive, ergonomic and equipped with a 'dead man's trigger' for added safety. A real gem. And the killer detail: : even lets you check the battery cell balance.
Off-road performance
Low-end torque is impressive. When you're going uphill on loose ground, it grips hard. And the higher you go, the more stable the board becomes - a balance I find really intelligent. You get power when you need it, without ever being catapulted to full speed. It's perfectly calibrated for getting off the beaten track.
A truly unique board
Every element of the Renegade has been made to measure. There are no generic parts here. The deck is pre-drilled, pre-threaded, with several positioning options for the footstraps, allowing true customisation according to yourstyle from ride. Even the motors have their own exclusive design. This is clearly a board designed by riders for riders. The board is thin but slightly flexible. The result : is excellent cushioning comfort, even on chaotic terrain. I also liked the Evolve wheels : they hold their pressure for several months, which means virtually no maintenance
At high speed? Unruffled.
As for the trucks, we're talking heavyweight : forged trucks with springs and bushings. At low speeds, it carves well, and as soon as you pick up speed, the board stays straight and stable. The springs aren't adjustable, but to be honest, I got used to them very quickly. Some more technical riders might regret the lack of spring adjustment, but the ability to change the bushings means you can still adjust the feel of ride. As far as I'm concerned, it didn't hold me back.

Today we're sharing ESK8 UNITY 's feedback on the Renegade Diablo, Evolve Skateboards' latest off-road beast. After several weeks' testing in real conditions, their verdict is clear : this electric mountainboard is a real favourite. Powerful, precise, fun and ultra robust, the Diablo Renegade has been designed to handle the worst trails as well as the straightest lines. A complete test that confirms that this model is once again pushing back the standards of ride off-road.
A sensational design
The 95 cm carbon fibre deck is impressive from the outset. Rigid and ultra-strong, it takes the strain while offering a perfectly shaped concave, with no annoying central hump, for a natural, intuitive posture. You can clearly feel the snowboard inspiration in every turn. It's stable, responsive and, above all, great for carving.
7-inch tyres and great grip
I tested it on different terrains : tarmac, gravel, grass and dirt. And every time, the 7-inch Knobby tyres blew me away. The grip is there, the pressure lasts, and even if the coloured tyres wear out a little quicker, it's still a fun choice. Special mention should be made of the ultra-versatile set-up, which means you can switch from one terrain to another without a care in the world.
7000W of torque and ESC calibrated to the millimetre
Under the bonnet, there's plenty of power. With two 6374 motors, each rated at 3,500 W, you can reach speeds of up to 62 km/h with a customised wheel configuration. But what impressed me most was the progressiveness of the acceleration. The EFOC 2.0 200A controller does an exceptional job : It remains fluid and controllable, even in Sport mode. And even with the battery at 10%, it still pulls without jerking.
A serious battery for long sessions
The Samsung 50S (12S4P) battery offers 864 Wh (20 Ah), with a range of around 49 km (in mixed Corsa/Sport mode). It's not the most enduring battery on the market, but for a machine of this power, it's more than respectable.
And let me add that the casing is waterproof and flexible, a real plus when you're driving off-road.
Comfort, transport and premium finish
Every detail exudes quality : integrated carrying handle, premium unboxing, Phaze CNC aluminium remote control, and accessories supplied with care. You get the feeling that Evolve doesn't do things by halves. I had a small problem at the end of the test (minor), and Evolve's after-sales service reacted immediately, returning the device and taking care of it without a second thought. That's rare, and deserves to be highlighted.
One small downside: : footstraps are not included by default. They're optional, and believe me, for a committed ride off-roader, that makes all the difference. Something to think about when you buy it.

The Renegade Diablo is neither a classic mountainboard nor a city longboard. It's a hybrid electric skateboard, designed for riders looking for control, carving, fun and a real off-road experience.
