Evolve Diablo Carbon Test
Rigid, powerful, fast, and ultra-stable, by Drew Elia and Average Eskate Reviews
The Diablo Carbon builds on the Hadean model with major improvements: more power, more range, and a radically different ride feel thanks to its full forged carbon deck.
Two experienced riders tested the Diablo Carbon in real-world conditions. Here are their full reviews on the power, carving, range, and finishes of this Evolve flagship.
Summary
Test by Drew Elia
100% forged carbon deck
Underfoot, a 100% ultra-rigid carbon deck. No flex, but absolute stability. The shape integrates a discreet micro-drop, a subtle central concave, and a premium finish that inspires confidence.
The result: a board that holds its own at high speed, without unwanted vibrations, with a true surf feeling, very different from the snowboard style of the Bamboo version.
7,000 W and EFOC 2.0
The 6374 motors of 3,500 W each are coupled to the EFOC 2.0 controller which manages power peaks, cell balancing, and thermal protection. Corsa mode is automatically limited after 8 seconds at full load to prevent overheating.
- Eco: perfect for learning without stress
- Sport: already very dynamic
- Corsa: beware, it rips!
Super Carve 2 and 7-inch tires
The Super Carve 2 trucks offer impeccable stability at high speed and a precise glide sensation. The 175 mm (7") tires ensure excellent grip, even on degraded or uneven roads.
This is clearly a skateboard designed for demanding riders.
Rigid, direct, race-ready
The Diablo Carbon offers a radically different experience from the Bamboo version: more stable, more direct, more "race-ready", but a little less comfortable. An ideal board for long straight lines, heavier riders, or enthusiasts of precise gliding.
Solid, very well built, it confirms Evolve's mastery in the high-end segment.
Test by Average Eskate Reviews
A high-end object
Its forged carbon deck with integrated LEDs like a light strip gives it a true luxury object look. Everything is well integrated, elegant, robust. And the overall waterproofing has been improved compared to the Hadean, making the board much more reassuring in case of light rain.
Everything has been revised
Compared to the Hadean Carbon, every detail has been improved to meet the real-world needs of riders:
- More grippy grip tape, better foot lock
- Trucks widened by 20 mm, increased stability without sacrificing carving
- New motors, better heat dissipation
- E-FOC 2.0 ESC, better electronic management and safety
50 km/h the real deal
With a rider of 75 to 80 kg, the board reliably reaches 50 km/h. Acceleration in Corsa mode is frankly brutal. A pleasant surprise: braking is greatly improved, you can slide the wheels effortlessly.
Everything is customizable in the app or via the basic modes.
45 to 48 km in real conditions
With sporty but fluid riding, Average Eskate Reviews achieved between 45 and 48 km of range. Excellent result for such a powerful skateboard. On loose ground (sand, gravel), the range drops quickly.
Charge time: 4 hours with the standard charger, no fast charging option. This is the main identified weakness.
Smart Phaze Remote
Robust, well-designed, with a full screen (speed, range), smart vibrations (overcurrent, mode reduction) and the ability to check cell health directly from the remote.
A refined, reliable and powerful board
Strengths
- High-end look and quality
- Solid range and performance
- Powerful and controllable braking
- Local after-sales support, reliable support
- 2-year battery warranty included
Weaknesses
- Slow charging (4h, no fast option)
- Deck a bit short for large feet
- High price (but justified)
