Renegade V1 (Original)
The Renegade V1 grip tape is designed for the original Renegade model with its specific deck and characteristic binding locations. This version perfectly adapts to the contours of the first-generation Renegade deck, with precise cutouts for the four binding attachment points. If you purchased your Renegade before the Diablo launch, this is the version you need.
Diablo Renegade
The Diablo Renegade grip tape is designed for the Diablo configuration equipped with Renegade bindings. Since the Diablo deck has different dimensions from the original Renegade, this grip is adapted to its shape while integrating the cutouts for the bindings. If you have a standard Diablo without bindings, choose the classic Diablo Grip Tape instead.

Do I need to remove the bindings to change the grip?
Yes, it is necessary to remove the bindings before replacing the Renegade grip tape. Start by unscrewing the four attachment screws for each binding. Then, remove the old grip using a hairdryer to soften the adhesive. Once the new grip is applied and well-positioned over the binding cutout areas, re-screw the bindings, ensuring the holes are perfectly aligned. This operation adds approximately 10 minutes to the total installation time.
How to differentiate Renegade V1 and Diablo Renegade?
The main difference is the deck on which the bindings are mounted. The Renegade V1 has its own deck with a specific shape and unique dimensions. The Diablo Renegade uses the Diablo deck (longer and wider) equipped with Renegade bindings. Check your invoice or compare visually: the Diablo Renegade has the characteristic profile of the Diablo with its aggressive lines, while the Renegade V1 has a more compact design.
Does Renegade grip wear out faster when riding all-terrain?
Intensive all-terrain use puts more stress on the grip: constant vibrations, kicked-up dirt and gravel, dynamic movements during jumps and obstacle crossings. However, on the Renegade with bindings, your feet are attached and exert less sliding friction than on a classic skateboard. Wear primarily comes from abrasive debris. Clean your grip after each off-road session to remove particles and extend its lifespan.
Can I use standard grip on my Renegade?
No, standard grips are not suitable for the Renegade. The Renegade grip tape includes specific cutouts for the binding locations. A standard grip (GTR, Hadean, Diablo) does not have these cutouts and would need to be cut out by hand, which is difficult to do cleanly and risks damaging the grip. Furthermore, deck dimensions differ. Always use a grip designed for your exact model.
How to correctly align the grip with the binding holes?
Alignment is facilitated by the grip's precise pre-cutouts. When applying, start by positioning the grip, visually aligning the cutouts with the deck holes. First, apply one edge without fully sticking it down to check alignment. Once satisfied, slowly work your way from the center outwards, pressing down. If a slight adjustment is needed, you can slightly enlarge the holes with a cutter after installation.
Is this grip suitable for the Stoke or other Evolve models?
No, this grip is exclusively for Renegade setups (with bindings). The Stoke, the GTR, the GTX, the Hadean and the standard Diablo have different decks and do not use bindings. Each Evolve model has its dedicated grip with the exact dimensions of its deck. For the Stoke, use the Stoke grip. For other models, choose the corresponding grip from our catalog.
