FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - DIABLO GRIP TAPE
Does this grip also fit the Diablo Renegade?
No, the Diablo Renegade requires a different grip. The Diablo Renegade combines the Diablo chassis with Renegade bindings, which modifies the grip cut-out areas. If you own a Diablo Renegade, please choose the Renegade Grip Tape which includes the cut-outs for the bindings. The standard Diablo grip is only compatible with Diablo Carbon and Diablo Bamboo without bindings.
Why does the grip wear out faster on the Diablo?
The Diablo is Evolve's most powerful model with 7,000W and 55 km/h. This power generates increased stress on the grip: brutal accelerations that cause feet to slip, intensive braking that creates significant friction, and high speeds that amplify movements. It is normal for a Diablo's grip to wear out slightly faster than a less powerful model. Regular cleaning and proper foot positioning extend its lifespan.
What is the difference between Diablo grip and Hadean grip?
Although visually similar, the Diablo and Hadean have different decks with specific dimensions and contours. The Diablo grip is slightly longer to fit the Diablo deck. Using a Hadean grip on a Diablo (or vice versa) would create fit problems: edges sticking out, uncovered areas, or poor alignment with the trucks. Always choose the grip that exactly matches your model.
How can I maximize the grip of my Diablo grip?
For optimal grip on your Diablo, several factors are important: suitable shoes with flat, non-slip soles (avoid smooth or leather soles), clean grip regularly cleaned with a Grip Cleaner to remove residues, and optimized foot positioning on the areas of best grip. In wet weather, dry your grip before riding and reduce your speed as grip decreases on wet surfaces.
Should I replace my grip before a speed session?
If your grip shows smooth or worn areas, yes, replace it before any high-speed session. A worn grip can cause dangerous slips during intense accelerations or braking. On the Diablo with its extreme performance, good grip is not a comfort but a safety necessity. Regularly inspect the areas under your feet (front and back) where wear is most significant.
How long does a Diablo grip tape last?
Lifespan depends on your ride style and frequency of use. With intensive use (daily, long sessions, high speeds), a Diablo grip can last between 1000 and 2,000 km. With moderate use, it can last 2500 to 4,000 km. The main wear factors are: frequency of accelerations/braking, type of shoes, weather conditions, and maintenance quality. Monthly cleaning significantly extends its lifespan.
