The ultimate urban board

Evolve Stoke X retro urban design
Design

Retro style, designed for the city

A short 85 cm deck, made of 4 plies of bamboo and 2 plies of fiberglass, with a clear grip and an EVA pad at the rear. Laser-engraved pinstripe, a tribute to the brand's very first pintail. And most importantly, a real kicktail: curb hops, 180°, reverts, and excellent portability.

Longboard power

Don't let its size fool you: the Stoke X has the same motors as the Hadean, meaning two 3,000 W motors, 6,000 W in total. Controlled by the EFOC 2.0, Evolve's ESC renowned for its precision and controlled power.

Stoke X Samsung 50S battery range
Battery

23 km in real-world conditions

The Samsung 50S battery, 50.4 V and 432 Wh, offers three times more capacity than the first Stoke. ESK8UNITY measured 23 km in real-world conditions (75 kg, 8°C, alternating Corsa and Sport modes). For a compact board designed for the city, that's more than impressive.

Stoke X Super Carve 2 trucks 97mm wheels
Trucks and wheels

Super Carve 2 trucks

The Super Carve 2 trucks make a difference: wider, stiffer, but still fluid. The carving is clean and controlled, even in tight turns. The 97 mm 76A hardness wheels offer impressive grip, even at high speeds.

It's simply the best electric kicktail I've tested to date.
ESK8UNITY Review

Mini board, maximum thrills

Strengths

  • Ultra portable
  • Powerful and responsive
  • Customizable
  • Generous range
  • Perfect for tricks and urban riding
  • Best remote control on the market

Things to note

  • Reduced ground clearance with larger motors
  • Wheels larger than 97 mm can cause wheelbite
  • Bash guards exposed to rubbing on sidewalks
Test #2

Test by Drew Elia

Concentrated power in a compact format

Drew Elia review Evolve Stoke X ride
First contact

A magnificent look

The Stoke X's look is magnificent. It's directly inspired by the first Evolve pintail. The engraved bamboo pinstripes are super elegant. An old-school surf style that we don't see enough of anymore. At the back, the EVA rubber pad is soft and comfortable underfoot.

Stoke X Super Carve 2.0 carving trucks
Carving

Super Carve 2.0 trucks

The new Super Carve 2.0 trucks are wider than those of older models. The result: a incredibly fluid and natural carving sensation. The supergrip 97 mm wheels with bi-durometer construction absorb imperfections while maintaining excellent control.

Stoke X 35km range real conditions Drew Elia
Range

35 km in real-world conditions

Drew Elia achieved 35 km in real-world conditions, average speed of 20 km/h, with constant carving. The Samsung 50S 432 Wh battery represents a big improvement over the first model. For such a compact board, it's truly impressive.

Stoke X EFOC 2.0 motorization power
Power

Lots of power for this size

The Stoke X uses the same motors as the Hadean combined with the EFOC 2.0 controller. That's a lot of power for such a small board. Even in Eco mode, the top speed is reached quickly. The Evolve app allows you to customize power, acceleration, and braking.

Drew Elia Review

Strengths and limitations

What I liked

  • Portability and lightness (10.5 kg)
  • Impressive range for its size
  • Exceptional carving with Super Carve 2.0
  • Can ride all week on short trips

Two small flaws

  • Clear grip: visually superb but gets dirty quickly
  • Rear bash guards: the tail often touches the ground, slightly limiting tricks
