How to Replace the Rim, Tire, and Inner Tube on an All-Terrain Wheel

We're going to guide you through the process of replacing a rim, a tire, and an inner tube on an all-terrain wheel. These components are essential for maintaining the performance and safety of your board.

We're going to guide you through the process of replacing a rim, a tire and an inner tube on an all-terrain wheel. These components are essential for maintaining the performance and safety of your board.

  • Tire wear: Tires wear out over time, and this can become dangerous.
  • Defective inner tube: A damaged inner tube can cause punctures.
  • Damaged rim: A damaged rim can affect your board's stability.
  • New rim, tire, and/or inner tube
  • 1/8 Allen key (provided with your Y-Tool when you receive your board)

Remove all air from the inner tube to facilitate disassembly.

Use the Allen key to remove the six screws that hold the two halves of the rim together. Keep the wheel flat on a table to prevent the nuts from falling.

Separate the rim halves: Separate the two halves by holding the wheel on the table. Set aside the upper half, leaving the screws in the holes.

Release the lower half: Push to release the tire from the lower half of the rim.

Remove the inner tube: If the inner tube is still in good condition, you can reuse it. Otherwise, replace it with a new one.

Install the new tire: Put a little air into the new inner tube to give it shape (easier to fit it properly into the tire), then place it inside the new tire. Make sure the inner tube does not protrude from the tire to avoid pinching when reassembling the rim and causing a puncture.

Align the valve: Align the inner tube valve with the notch in the rim.

Assemble the rim halves: Place the upper half of the rim, aligning the notch with the valve. Insert the screws so they pass through the holes to the other side of the rim.

Star pattern tightening: Tighten the screws in a star pattern to ensure uniform fastening. Check that the nuts do not protrude and are securely tightened.

Inflate to 3 bars: Inflate the tire to 3 bars for the best range and performance.

By following these steps, you can easily replace the rim, tire, and inner tube of your electric skateboard on an all-terrain wheel.

This process ensures that your board remains in excellent condition and performs at its best.
